Sports Toto’ corporate responsibility is focused on helping deserving people while contributing to societal development and benefit communities. The “Helping Hands” CSR programme was first presented by Sports Toto in 2010 and was featured on NTV7 as a 30-minute Mandarin charity programme. After 2 seasons of Helping Hands programme, Sports Toto once again brought back the “Helping Hands Season 3” in 2012 and added in new elements into the charity-themed programme.
In season 3, two local popular artistes, Ke Qing (可晴) and Thomas from Thomas & Jack (东于哲的小东), have been assigned as team leaders to partner programme host, Owen Yap (叶剑锋) and volunteers in extending helping hand to 13 less fortunate families by way of home renovations and other essential items. Volunteer recruitment received an overwhelming response from the public though it was done through Helping Hands Season 3 Facebook page.
“Helping Hands Season 3” was aired on NTV7, every Sunday 6pm to 6.30pm, from 9th December 2012 to 10th March 2013. The story of each beneficiary family was also featured in Guang Ming Daily every Sunday.
